The Lila Experience

The Lila experience is not just about great photographs, it is about personal connection so deep that we capture your essence. That means truly investing our time in getting to understand you.
Throughout the process, we essentially engage continuously, daily, via WhatsApp, to build your shoot. It is not possible to put a time to this. We engage as much as it takes to build your shoot, using the make-up, clothing, accessories, themes etc. that you already have or want to use.
Time spent together can range from12-18 hours over 3 days.
Time put into research, planning, scripting, conceptualizing, developing your shoot, and editing typically consumes anything from12-36 hours (working time). Not limited to office hours.
This includes:
Physical and intellectual services of Artist/photographer (Neo) and Consultant (Leeanne)
Day 1: Initial meeting (non-refundable deposit R500)
Day 2: 'Get to know you' session (practice shoot) at venue of your comfort**
*BTS 1: Light editing for discussion purposes
BTS 2: Character analysis & theme-building +
Personality, facial and body type analysis
BTS 3: Personalised pose coaching
BTS 4: Shoot planning
BTS 5: Aesthetic consultation - Hair, make-up, etc.
BTS 6: Clothing selection
Day 3: Final photoshoot (various scenes at our home & studio). Alternate locations - SQ
BTS 7: Editing
BTS 8: Discussion and adjustments to edits
A minimum of 3x fine art or detailed edits
OR
6x detailed Boudoir/Intimate shoot edits
Edits are done individually, by hand.

Your Shoot, Your Pricing
We work from a baseline package which includes the absolute minimum of events that we believe constitutes 'enough' to enjoy the Līlā experience. From there on the sky is the limit, and we will quote you on an ad-hoc basis, creating a customised package that suits your needs and desired outcomes. We have provided a few examples below of how the experience can be enhanced with additional sessions, services and products, however, we will suggest further options at the time depending on what we learn about you and your personality. You are also welcome to suggest ideas that you wish to include and we can discuss incorporating these into your package. We hope that you can see that our approach is far more than anything that is currently offered in the photography industry, precisely because we do not view our work as something to be commercialised. To maximise our time working on your project, we charge a nominal fee for our preliminary session (R500 as of 01 January 2024) to ensure that we are engaging with people who are serious and committed to the experience. We truly invest ourselves in you, your process and customising your experience. Human connection is just as important to us as the artistic output and Client satisfaction from working with you.
That Which You See, and That Which You Don't
Our entire process is based on the virtues of quality and authenticity. We work on each session being 3-6 hours, but this may vary if more time is needed to capture your essence. We price per session not per hour, thus any additional time within a given day is on us.
We chat continuously between sessions, as we work in the background. Please understand that we spend as much, if not more time when we are not with you, analysing, conceptualizing, researching, editing and planning.
We do prefer in-person consultations as far as is possible, but video calls can be accommodated as well.
Ideally, the 'get to know you (practise shoot)' should be at your home or another place of comfort to you. Images from the pre-shoot are to give us an idea of what works for you and what does not, only. However, if there are images that we (Lila) are satisfied with, you will be given the option to purchase these as well.
